Quantification of moisture content in Ethylacetate using Fourier transform Near Infrared Spectroscopy

Abstract

A rapid and nondestructive method for the determination of trace level moisture content in
Ethylacetate using Fourier transform near infrared (FT-NIR) Spectroscopy was developed and
validated.Partial least squares regression (PLSR) was applied to develop a calibration model. The
method is linear, precise, robust and accurate in the range of 0.02% to 3.5% of moisture content.
The square of correlation coefficientand Root Mean square error of cross validation (RMSECV)
isobtained as 99.9 and 0.01 respectively. The developed method was employed for the
determination of moisture content in recovered and fresh Ethylacetate samples.
