Abstract

Inguinal hernia is a pathology whose incidence is increasing due to the aging of the population.
Technical advances in surgery and anesthetics have significantly reduced the contraindications.
Multiple surgical techniques have emerged, hence the complexity of a choice in which several
criteria intervene. Our retrospective study examined 123 cases of groin hernias operated between
December 2014 and January 2016, in the Department of Visceral Surgery, wing 3, at the Ibn Rochd
Hospital in Casablanca. The objective of this study is to show the attitude of the department
concerning the management of inguinal hernias in recent years as it appeared to us in the
literature.
